Lasallian Spirituality

Lasallian spirituality is a holistic and educational spirituality that integrates all aspects of one's life through cooperation with God in the ministry of human and Christian education, especially for the poor, according to the vision of John Baptist de La Salle 1 . It is characterized by a spirit of faith and zeal, which drives individuals and communities to provide education to the young, particularly the marginalized.

Key components of Lasallian spirituality include:

• Faith, Zeal, and Community: These are the traditional pillars of Lasallian spirituality. Faith represents the interior dimension, zeal is the exterior expression, and community is the context in which these are lived out .

• Practice of the Presence of God: To centre our daily activities, recalling the Presence of God. 

• Educational Mission: The Lasallian mission focuses on providing a human and Christian education, emphasizing peace, equity, social justice, and the development of a more democratic and just society.

• Relational and Fraternal: Lasallian spirituality is relational, engaging in dialogue with God, others, oneself, and creation. It emphasizes community and fraternity as essential elements for personal and communal growth.

• Inclusivity and Responsiveness: It is an inclusive spirituality that responds to current realities and is rooted in the Church's tradition of educational ministry.

Overall, Lasallian spirituality is about living out one's faith through dedicated educational service, fostering community, and promoting justice and solidarity.
